FAQs
1.What are the trails like in Costa Rica?
The trails on this retreat are a mix of dirt roads, single-track and wider trails and unpaved roads. The terrain in Costa Rica is very muddy, rocky and rooty, so the running will be slow, but that's all part of the adventure! Some of our runs will be on packed dirt hiking trails, while others will be through grassy pastures on uneven ground.
2. Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?
We make every effort to accommodate your dietary preferences and restrictions with the hotels and restaurants. It is possible to accommodate vegan, vegetarians and gluten free travelers on this retreat. Note that alcoholic drinks, snacks, and beverages outside of meals and trail runs are not included.
3. Why is this retreat more expensive than some other group trips in Costa Rica
This retreat is more than just a group running tour; our retreat leaders are experts in mindful leadership so that they can support you on a journey that may be personally transformational. Plus, in addition to the professional running guides, premium accommodations, wellness experiences and excellent meals, we included are pre and post-retreat resources that help you integrate new mindfulness habits into your life.
4. Is a Visa required for Costa Rica?
No, though you do need to have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months after your travel dates.
5. Is it OK for me to come by myself?
Yes! Most of our retreat participants travel alone. You may book a private room or a shared room package, in which case we'll pair you with another solo traveler in a room with two beds.
6. How fit do I need to be to do these runs?
We recommend that you have the fitness to comfortably run at least 8 miles, whether that's on roads or trails. You'll be on your feet around 2 to 3 hours a day in variable weather conditions. So good health and some running fitness is required.
7. I'm coming with a friend; can we share a room together?
Certainly! If we have a room with two beds available, we can assign you and your friend together as roommates for the duration of the retreat.
8. Can I pay in installments instead of all at once?
Yes! Please submit a request for a payment plan to one of our retreat travel specialists by emailing [email protected] or calling 970-930-1295.
