FAQs
1. How do you qualify your run guides?
We partnered with professional running guides that hold all the necessary certifications and emergency response required to safely guide in Costa Rica. Your safety and comfort is always our top priority. So please know you'll be in expert hands on the trails!
2. Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?
Yes! On your participant profile , you can provide us with the details of your specific dietary needs, and we pass this information along to the restaurants at which we eat during the retreat. If you have food allergies or an extremely restricted diet, let us know and we will discuss the options for accommodating those needs with you.
4. Why is this retreat more expensive than some others to Costa Rica?
This retreat is more than just a group running tour; our Retreat Leaders are experts in mindful leadership so that they can support you on a journey that may be personally transformational. Additionally, you will experience professional running guides, premium accommodations, wellness experiences and excellent meals.
5. Is it OK for me to come by myself?
Yes! Most of our retreat participants travel alone. You may book a private room or a shared room package, in which case we'll pair you with another solo traveler in a room with two beds.
6. How fit do I need to be to do these runs?
We recommend that you have the fitness to comfortably run at least 7 miles, whether that's on roads or trails. You'll be on your feet around 2 to 3 hours a day in variable weather conditions. So good health and some running fitness is required.
7. How fast of a runner do I need to be?
You don't need to run a specific pace-per-mile to participate in this retreat, though you should have a base level of fitness that involves running at least 7 miles on the road. On the retreat, we take a lot of breaks to take photos, hydrate, enjoy the views, etc., so the pace is very relaxed and mindful. This also helps you conserve energy and not feel rushed at all.
8. I'm coming with a friend; can we share a room together?
Certainly! We can assure you and your friend will be roommates (when you each book a shared room package).
