GUIDE GRATUITY
NEW for 2024! Gratuities for our guides and drivers are included in your package price on all of our international retreats. At the end of the retreat, your retreat leader will place the group’s gratuity inside a thank-you card and present it to the guides on everyone’s behalf. All of our guides and drivers will be tipped according to industry standards. If you feel that your guides and/or driver did an outstanding job, you are welcome to tip extra on an individual basis, but there is no obligation.

Your deposit is fully transferrable to any other trip or partially refundable until March 13, 2024. Trip payments are non-refundable after this date. We recommend travel insurance with "Cancel for Any Reason" for this reason. See full terms and conditions at: https://runwildretreats.com/retreat-booking-terms-and-conditions/
FAQ's
1. Why is this retreat more expensive than some other group trips in Iceland?
This retreat is more than just a group running tour; our retreat leaders are experts in mindful leadership so that they can support you on a journey that may be personally transformational. Plus, in addition to the professional running guides, premium accommodations, wellness experiences and excellent meals, we included are pre and post-retreat resources that help you integrate new mindfulness habits into your life.
2. Should I be concerned about the volcanic activity near the airport?
No. Travel authorities assure us that the volcanic activity around Grindavik is unlikely to affect air travel or impact our itinerary at all.
2. How do I know your guides are qualified, and are they really Icelandic?
We've partnered with the same Icelandic running guides we've been working with for nearly 10 years on this retreat. You'll be in expert hands on the trails they know personally because they are from Iceland, professional and passionate about sharing with us their folklore, history and geological knowledge of the places we'll be running.
3. Can you accommodate my special dietary needs?
Yes. In your intake form, you can provide us with the details of your specific dietary needs, and we pass this information along to the restaurants at which we eat during the retreat. If you have food allergies or an extremely restricted diet, let us know and we will discuss the options for accommodating those needs with you.
4. Is it OK for me to come by myself?
Yes! Most of our retreat participants travel alone. You may book a private room or a shared room package, in which case we'll pair you with another solo traveler in a room with two beds.
6. How fit do I need to be to do these runs?
We recommend that you have the fitness to comfortably run at least 8 miles, whether that's on roads or trails. You'll be on your feet around 2 to 3 hours a day in variable weather conditions. So good health and some running fitness is required.
7. I'm coming with a friend; can we share a room together?
Certainly! If we have a room with two beds available, we can assign you and your friend together as roommates for the duration of the retreat.
8. I want to stay longer in Iceland beyond the retreat; can you help me find things to do?
We offer three different one or two-night Extension Packages that you can add to your booking to stay longer before or after the retreat. They include a guided tour of Snæfellsnes Peninsula, or horseback riding and a Lava Tube excursion or stay at the Blue Lagoon's luxurious Silica Hotel. The the To-Do section for more information.
9. Can I pay in installments instead of all at once?
Yes! Please submit a request for a payment plan to one of our retreat travel specialists by emailing [email protected] or calling 970-930-1295.
