You’ll stay at the stunning Red Cliffs Lodge, nestled on the banks of the Colorado River, where every room offers sweeping views of the surrounding red rock cliffs. Each day begins and ends with nourishing meals at local restaurants, where you’ll savor regional flavors and connect over shared stories with your fellow retreaters. Between mindful runs, you'll unwind with a restorative yoga session designed specifically for runners, helping your body recover while enhancing your mental clarity or relax by the pool or book a spa appointment directly with the hotel. The leaders and trail guides were phenomenal, kind women who created an environment of support and encouragement and joy. I never did trail running before - but I run on the road at least 4 miles 3-4 times a week. I never felt "less than" or out of place. It was challenging, but doable and fun for me. It's For You if You:

 
  • Are comfortable running 7 miles. We will spend 2-3 on trail each day including time for mindful running clinics, breaks for water, photos, and taking in the views.
  • Embrace a sense of adventure and enjoy trails that may include some roots, rocks, or uneven terrain.
  • Love trying new things and are open to learning and practicing mindful running techniques.
  • Comfortable with brief exposure to heights or narrow trails. Our professional running guides will provide tips on how to navigate the trail. 
  • Don’t mind running at a conversational pace and stopping to enjoy the scenery.
  • Seek a meaningful balance of adventure, relaxation, and personal growth.

Mindful Running is this retreat's defining experience. Your dedicated Retreat Leader will lead you through experiences on and off the trail that are designed to help you discover how to run with more ease and flow. And if you've never run trails before, you'll learn how to adapt your road running technique for this new terrain. And if you're an experienced trail runner, you'll take your running to a whole new level of efficiency and joy. You’ll have free time to enjoy the resort’s excursions such as a massage, horseback riding, art projects, free yoga and much more.
