FAQs
1. Why is this retreat more expensive than some other group trips in Peru?
This retreat is more than just a group running tour; our retreat leaders are experts in mindful leadership so that they can support you on a journey that may be personally transformational. Plus, in addition to the professional running guides, premium accommodations, wellness experiences and excellent meals, we included are pre and post-retreat resources that help you integrate new mindfulness habits into your life.
2. I have never run at this high elevation before; how will I manage?
All runners will need to go slower due to the elevation and steepness of the trails. We budget lots of time on the trail so you won't feel rushed. Mindful breathing techniques will help you pace yourself so that you feel comfortable.
3. How do I know your guides are qualified?
We've partnered with professional running guides that hold all the necessary certifications and emergency response required to safely guide in Ireland. Your safety and comfort is always our top priority. So please know you'll be in expert hands on the trails!
4. Can you accommodate my special dietary needs?
Yes. In your intake form, you can provide us with the details of your specific dietary needs, and we pass this information along to the restaurants at which we eat during the retreat. If you have food allergies or an extremely restricted diet, let us know and we will discuss the options for accommodating those needs with you.
5. Is it OK for me to come by myself?
Yes! Most of our retreat participants travel alone. You may book a private room or a shared room package, in which case we'll pair you with another solo traveler in a room with two beds.
6. How fit do I need to be to do these runs?
We recommend that you have the fitness to comfortably run at least 8 miles, whether that's on roads or trails and be a strong hiker. We won't run non-stop, however, and will hike or walk when the trail is too step to run on, and run flats and downhills.
7. I'm coming with a friend; can we share a room together?
Certainly! If we have a room with two beds available, we can assign you and your friend together as roommates for the duration of the retreat (when you each book a shared room package).
8. Should I come early in order to acclimate before the retreat begins?
Yes, we highly recommend doing that and provide information about hotels you can stay in either Lima or Cusco.
9. Can I pay in installments instead of all at once?
Yes! Please submit a request for a payment plan to one of our retreat travel specialists by emailing [email protected] or calling 970-930-1295.
