The runs range from a coastal run in Lisbon, passing iconic landmarks, to a serene trail near Fonte da Benémola, where you'll encounter peaceful woodlands and Mediterranean wildlife. You’ll traverse pine forests in Monte Gordo, scale the heights of the Monchique Mountains, and explore coastal paths along Praia da Luz to Lagos. Each run offers a distinct blend of natural beauty, historical insights, and breathtaking views, culminating in a scenic trail at Praia do Amado with dramatic cliffside vistas. These runs are suitable for all levels, emphasizing mindfulness, movement, and connection with nature.

Elevate Your Spirit

Throughout the retreat, you’ll engage in activities designed to connect your body, mind, and soul with the tranquil surroundings of Portugal. Each day will start with a run while afternoons will be for rest, relaxation and exploration. Highlights include a private cooking class in Tavira, where you'll learn to prepare traditional local dishes, and a private boat tour to explore the breathtaking Benagil Cave. Immerse yourself in the rhythms of Portuguese culture with a traditional dance class and unwind with a restorative yoga session that aligns your body and spirit.

Additionally, you'll have daily access to on-site spa services and facilities, perfect for those moments when you need a little extra pampering. From exploring historic towns to indulging in the local cuisine, each activity is curated to help you connect with the culture and the people of this stunning region, making every moment memorable.

From Coastal Beauty to Mountain Splendor: Your Trail Running Journey

Starting in Lisbon, you will enjoy our first run which takes us along the Tagus River, passing iconic landmarks like Torre de Belém, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, and the 25 de Abril Bridge before finishing in the heart of downtown Lisbon at Praça do Comércio. From there, our runs move south to the Algarve, where we will run the Fonte da Benémola Trail which offers a tranquil escape into the region’s rich biodiversity, meandering past ancient watermills, springs, and lush riverbanks. On day 3, we will run the coastal Monte Gordo Trail which combines serene boardwalks and pine forests with stunning views of the Guadiana River and even glimpses of Spain.

The adventure continues on day 4 with more challenging yet rewarding trails. The Foia Viewpoint trail takes us to the Algarve’s highest peak, offering panoramic views and leading to the picturesque Penedo do Buraco Waterfall. The Praia da Luz to Lagos route is along dramatic cliffs and beaches, featuring the striking Ponta da Piedade rock formations and the historical sites of Lagos. Our final run of the retreat is the Praia do Amado loop which showcases the rugged beauty of the Costa Vicentina, with its pristine beaches and dramatic cliffs, ending with a breathtaking view of the Cabo de São Vicente, Europe’s southwestern most point.

Refresh Your Mind, Body & Soul

Your stay will include accommodations that combine comfort and luxury in some of the most beautiful areas of Portugal. You’ll spend one night in the vibrant heart of Lisbon at Palacio Ludovice, followed by two nights in Pousada Convento Tavira, Algarve, where you'll experience the charm of this historic town. The journey concludes with three nights in the western Algarve at the Praia do Canal Nature Retreat. Each location is carefully selected to enhance your experience, offering a perfect blend of modern amenities and authentic Portuguese culture.

  • Are comfortable with runs or hikes lasting 1–3 hours, including breaks for water, photos, and taking in the views.

  • Can comfortably run at least 3 miles at a time.

June is a perfect time to visit the Algarve region: days are warm and nights are balmy. However, the weather hasn’t yet turned to the full heat of summer, meaning that it’s a perfect time to be outside recreating. Daytime temperatures range from 64 F to 77 F, with the possibility of hotter days in the low to mid-80’s. 78% of June days in the Algarve are radiantly sunny, with very low chances of rain.
