GRATUITY
At the end of the retreat, your Retreat Leader will collect cash (U.S. dollars) from all retreat participants as a gratuity for local guides. You may provide the amount that feels right to you; we recommend offering $40 - $60 dollars, which will be shared between the guides. If you’d like to show appreciation for your Retreat Leader, a gratuity of USD $25-50 per day is not expected but is always appreciated.

Your deposit is fully transferrable to any other trip or partially refundable until June 13, 2025. Trip payments are non-refundable after this date. We recommend travel insurance with "Cancel for Any Reason" for this reason. See full terms and conditions at: https://runwildretreats.com/retreat-booking-terms-and-conditions/
FAQs
1. Why is this retreat more expensive than some other group trips in Vermont?
This retreat is more than just a group running tour; our retreat leaders are experts in mindful leadership so that they can support you on a journey that may be personally transformational. Plus, in addition to the professional run guides, premium accommodations, wellness experiences and excellent meals, we included are pre and post-retreat resources that help you integrate your healthy habits into your life.
2. I've never run trails before, is that OK?
No, this retreat is best suited to those who already have some trail running experience. You don't need to be an ultrarunner (our longest run is 10 miles, with all others being less than this). This retreat is not suitable for those who want to hike/walk.
3. Can you accommodate my special dietary needs?
Yes. In your intake form, you can provide us with the details of your specific dietary needs, and we pass this information along to the restaurants at which we eat during the retreat. If you have food allergies or an extremely restricted diet, let us know and we will discuss the options for accommodating those needs with you.
4. Is it OK for me to come by myself?
Yes! Most of our retreat participants travel alone. You may book a private room or a shared room package, in which case we'll pair you with another solo traveler in a room with two beds.
5. I'm new to running, can I do this?
Yes, if you are comfortable alternating running and walking for at least 3 to 4 miles at a time, then you can do this retreat. Our runs are maximum 6 miles, but that includes breaks and stops throughout. Most of the runs are a bit shorter than this, though they are on rocky trails.
6. How fast to I need to be able to run?
It's OK if you consider yourself a slow runner. We take a lot of breaks to take photos, hydrate, enjoy the views, etc., so the pace is very relaxed and mindful. This also helps you conserve energy and not feel rushed at all.
7. I'm coming with a friend; can we share a room together?
Certainly! If we have a room with two beds available, we can assign you and your friend together as roommates for the duration of the retreat.
8. Is there much free time?
There's not a lot of free time, but there are a few hours each on Friday and Saturday afternoons, during which you can book a spa treatment at the Essex or relax on your own in the beautiful gardens on the property.
9. Do I need my own car?
It's not necessary to have a car for this retreat. It's easy to find transportation from the Burlington airport and we provide all the transportation to and from the run locations and back to the airport.
10. Is all the food included, or just some meals?
We include all the meals from Thursday dinner through Sunday lunch, though any snacks and drinks you purchase outside of these meals is on your own. Please note that all alcoholic drinks are not included, and snacks and beverages outside of meals and trail runs are not included.
